Beginning Teacher Store
The CCS' Beginning Teacher Store will be open on the following dates August 15th, and August 18th through 22nd from 8 am to 4 pm. The store will also be open from 3 pm - 5 pm on August 27th, September 24th, and October 29th. The store is now located at Cumberland Road Elementary School at 2700 Cumberland Road, Fayetteville, NC.
First-Year Teachers Get Classroom Necessities
Fayetteville, NC – Close to 150 Beginning Teachers took advantage of the opportunity this August to shop for 10 FREE classroom supply items in Cumberland County Schools’ (CCS) Beginner Teacher Store.
A steady flow of first-year teachers, who have less than six-months experience, stopped by the Store, located in the Driver Education Building, to pick up bulletin board border, cut-outs, storage bins, math manipulatives and much more.
CCS’ Beginning Teacher Support Coordinator Kari Grates said that there were so many overwhelmingly positive comments about the Store. “They (Beginning Teachers) have been excited, thrilled, and appreciative of items to get their classrooms ready,” said Grates. “The first days of school and preparation for students is daunting, even for veteran teachers, so the idea of having a store that can help get teachers prepared with supplies and moral support is one of a kind.”
